Rebecca Woodworth‘s insight:
After caring for a relative with dementia Anita observed how her relative became more animated when knitting. Anita now focuses on communicating memories and thoughts and incorporates found objects into her textile work which acts as a metaphor for information, thoughts and memories.
Relates to my ideas of memories of Blackburn, intending to evoke fond memories in the older generation in Blackburn. I had been thinking of using images/print but it is possible that after interviewing people other objects could be used in the final pieces if they serve a purpose.

I too am working on a project based on dementia. It’s interesting to see how everyone approaches it from a different angle and point of view – even though the subject is the same. Interesting post. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful. Great composition!
